Hi I want to visit Thailand frequently for one to two months at a time splitting my time between here and the UK approximately 50/50.

What is the best method ??

At present I'm just getting visa exempt or a tourist visa but getting more looks and comments at the entry desk recently.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice on the best visa options for visiting Thailand frequently for one to two months, noting increased scrutiny at entry checkpoints with tourist and visa-exempt entries. Responses highlight limited options for long-term multi-entry visas for those who do not meet specific categories (like age or relationship to a Thai citizen), and suggest alternatives like the METV or applying for the new 10-year LTR visa as potential solutions.

and on that note I think
@Andy *******
has more than enough options to explore

6 month METV, Non-O visa/extension, Non-OA visa from their country, Non-OX 10 year visa, LTR (Long Term Residency) visa..

Good luck to him

Broaden your horizons to other countries in the region. Cambodia is lovely too. Far less visa hassle.

Been living in cambodia for 9 years...most expats that "try" to live in cambodia cannot get a visa in thailand or vietnam...anyway i would not compare cambodia with those countries

Iโ€™m the same as Andy. My plan now is to get the new LTR 10yr visa. That seems to me to be the best option.

absolutely the BEST option if you can get the New LTR 10 year Visa โœ…

It's pretty much exactly like James and John said,

If you don't fit neatly into one of the available visa categories (over 50, married to a thai, thai children, etc) you got almost no long term multi-entry options, and even WITH tourist visas you run the risk of denial of entry and being shipped back

What is your age?

Do you have a Thai wife?

Or Father of a Thai child?

Reality is that, as you said, are on the Thai Immigration Officers radar with your many entries into Thailand.

And need to find a Thai Visa which best describes or facilitates your many entries into Thailand.

How long have you been in Thailand this year?

In 2022?

If you're over 50 you could get a Non-O visa and appropriate annual extension with a multi entry permit, or the Non-OA from the UK but that requires insurance

You just don't have a lot of good visa options that will give you ANY "bang-4-ur-baht" visa wise with those type of travel plans.. ๐Ÿ˜•

Remember even holding a tourist visa doesn't guarantee you get IN to thailand, ๐Ÿ˜ฎ all it does is make sure that IF you get in they stamp you in for 60 days like the tourist visa allows..

Although with that being said having a valid tourist visa is WAY better than taking free visa exempt entries. About all you can do is have proof of onward travel (back to your country) within the 60 days you'll get stamped in for, proof of 20K baht or the equivalent in CASH, and hope for the best

A 6 month METV is an option and about the closest thing that might work, but you're only gonna get a couple entries out of it before it runs out

Plus it's way more than of a single entry tourist visa (200 USD v/s 40 USD)

@Andy *******
if you are over 50 why dont you get the NON-OA visa?

As a general rule we don't let "visa fishing" posts on ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Those are "what is the best visa for me to stay" types BUT the O/P has specific travel plans with time in and out of the country and I thought it was worth discussing
