Hello, i want to ask for Multi entry Tourist Visa.

In the e-visa form they say that i should provide a genuine reason for asking the multi entry, if not they will give me only the single entry without any refund.

My reason is that i'd like the travel all the south east asia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, i'm a digital nomad and i'm for now just like to live some months in thailand and visit multiple areas.

Is this a valid reason in your opinion? I just want to avoid to waste my money

p.s. I didn't ask for the long term visa because the elite visa is too expensive, i read also about a digital nomad visa but i don't make the minimum money required to ask it (80K$)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the validity of their reason for applying for a Multi-Entry Tourist Visa (METV) to travel as a digital nomad in Southeast Asia, primarily Thailand. They express concern regarding providing a 'genuine reason' in the e-visa application due to the financial constraints that prevent them from applying for long-term visas such as the elite visa or the digital nomad visa. Responses from the community suggest that the user should present a legitimate tourist activity as justification for the METV and that practices for obtaining this visa may vary by embassy.

Just book a flight out before 60 days.

You can add a note about your activities but digital nomads means working and you can’t work in Thailand on tourist visa.

What are you doing as a tourist in Thailand ?

For example I said I’m coming to look at Muay Thai camps to decide on one.

I got the visa In 4 hours.

Thailand doesn’t want digital nomads to backpackers anymore so don’t use the reason that you are basically coming to work in Southeast Asia you’ll get denied.

Come up with a legit tourist activity if you are worried about it.

You have asked this question today in another group as well Marta Mazzù and already got several good answers. As said there’s no straight or correct answer to your question as the practice varies between the thai embassies in different countries. Some demand that you show proof of at least two inbound and two outbound tickets, some just demand a single inbound ticket. The financial requirements for a METV is 200K thb for the period and if you don’t have a history of travelling in and out of Thailand recently it’s should be no problem to apply for and get a METV.

I hope this helps you in applying for the METV.

Tod Daniels had replied..

"nope usually that one flight out and back around the 60th day after you first enter is enough to show WHY you need an METV

You should be fine and if the consulate wants more travel plans they'll email you asking for it"
