What proof do I need to apply for a 6-month multiple entry tourist visa (METV) from the USA?

Hello! I am applying for the 6 month multiple entry tourist visa from USA. We have done this 3 or 4 times before Covid and never had an issue. Now the E-Visa website states we must “prove we have a genuine reason to visit Thailand on a regular basis” to qualify for the multiple entry. What type of proof would be accepted? would an itinerary without confirmations be accepted? We don’t have set travel plans, we like to keep things flexible. Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is applying for a 6-month multiple entry tourist visa (METV) from the USA and seeks clarification on what proof is needed to show a "genuine reason to visit Thailand on a regular basis." Responses indicate that evidence of travel plans is necessary, including a departure ticket within the first 60 days and a return ticket to Thailand after an exit. It's advised to refer to specific instructions on the E-Visa website, as those applying from their home country are eligible for the METV.

"when you applied for the 6 month METV did you show that you were leaving thailand in 60 days and coming back? they state on the eVisa website if you don't show a reason WHY you need a multi-entry they'll sell you a 60 day single entry and keep the difference. you HAVE to show that you were leaving in about 2 months from your arrival and comin' back".

...To apply for the METV... You MUST be in your home country to obtain it.

... The METV upon issue is valid for entry into Thailand for 6 months. So be sure to plan your arrival date into Thailand shortly after the METV visa is issued.

... The METV is eligible for the 30 days extension of stay at Thai immigration office for 1900 Thai baht. One time per Entry into Thailand.

... Need to show PROOF of your flight departing Thailand within the FIRST 60 days of ARRIVAL.

With ticket to re-enter Thailand after you depart Thailand. When you return is Up to You.

I have placed the TOPIC of METV multiple entry tourist visa on your post ..

CLICK on it and all posts about the METV multiple entry tourist visa will pop up to read.

Please read the replies from
@Tod ********
very carefully.

Follow what he says and you will get the METV.

IF you do not show travel to Thailand and then to another country and return to Thailand you will NOT get the METV.

The Evisa will issue you ONLY a single entry tourist visa SETV unless you do as Tod says.
