Hello,

I'm french and i already came in thailand many times.

This year, i use visa waiver from 30/12/2021 to 28/01/2022.

Then i applied for tourist visa and extend it (90) from 21/02/2022 to 15/05/2022.

I want to come back in July (already got my flight) for a year but i don't know what kind of visa can i apply.

Some agency in thailand told me to got tourist visa first and then convert it to ed visa with thai courses, but i need to be in thailand.

And internationals agency told me i can't have tourist visa again becuase i need to wait 6 months between 2 tourist visa (so not before 21/08/).

They recommand me to try with visa waiver but i'm afraid to be refuse when i arrive.

Does someone experience something like this ? Is there any solution, or visa i can apply and be sure to have ? Thanks :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, a French national, is seeking advice on returning to Thailand after several visits, including a recent use of a tourist visa. They have concerns about obtaining a new visa due to recommendations from various agencies regarding waiting periods and the potential risks of being denied entry. Comments suggest that while there is no strict limit on multiple tourist visa entries, it's essential to provide valid reasons for entry and sufficient funds during immigration checks. The suggestion of obtaining a TR 60-day visa before traveling is also noted.

Just get another TR 60 day visa before you get here.

There is no limit on how many tourist visa entries (or visa exempt entries) you can have in a calendar year (by air). However the immigration officer you hand your passport to may have concerns if they think you are milking the system or potentially working here using those type of entries. If you can show you have valid reasons for entry, have cash of 20,000 baht (or equivalent-cash only), accommodation and a flight out then there shouldn’t be an issue.

Trying to enter with a tourist visa, or exempt without a flight out will probably raise a red flag to the officer. You may get away with it but probably best not to try.

Probably wise to leave out any sentences that include any kind of reference to 'work'.

There’s the three things that immigration may ask - cash, accommodation and an exit ticket. There’s not a specific thing as a valid reason, but what I meant is if you could demonstrate why you would enter so many times. Many pilots or oil workers (and the like) live here and constantly leave and come back on visa exempt. Showing them a reason why would generally suffice.

There’s no hard and fast rule if they think you’re milking the system for whatever reason, but if you show them the three things they’ll probably let you in - even if they give you a bit of grilling beforehand. No guarantees mind you, so have a plan B.
