Is there any QR Pay app for payments that I can easily access as foreigner?
Answer summary
Several QR payment apps are available for foreigners in Thailand, though none are entirely seamless. Common suggestions include TagThai, which is widely advertised but criticized for high foreign exchange fees, and Moreta, noted for offering better rates and cashback options. Users have reported challenges with WAIWIN and TagThai's account setup and functionality. DeepPocket is also mentioned but has not been widely used. True Money is another option, and for those interested in cryptocurrency, MuseWallet is suggested. Withdrawal fees from ATMs remain a concern.

Does anyone have tried DeepPocket ? I have installed the app but didn’t make an account yet, i made a Waiwin account and I regret it as it is totally unclear how to top up
I have TagThai. It is horrible. You only can pay for businesses that have Bussiness QRcode. The app is very slow. Additionally you have to use foreign currencies to exchange or top-up the account. Their exchange rate is bad!! Moreta app is the same but at least they give you the current rate. I would go with Moreta. I am waiting to use all my money in the TagThai.
None are completely seamless, some still need cash top-up so there is the pricey ATM cash withdrawal fees and forex rates. Others only work with QR codes from sellers with registered business accounts.
When Moreta pay supports personal PromptPay codes, it will best TrueMoney with Advanced capability. For now, use the latter by augmenting with a Thai drivers license.
