Next week I'm going from Sakon Nakhon to Bangkok to collect my new UK passport. How and where do I get my retirement visa and multiple re-entry visa transferred? Will they do it at my local office? On previous occasions I got a new passport in UK and immigration at Suvarnabhumi did it on entry. So easy. Also, do I need an entry stamp in my new passport? Without one will it cause problems on exit?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To transfer your retirement visa and multiple re-entry visa to your new UK passport, you need to visit the immigration office where your visas were originally issued. Bring both your old and new passports along with a letter from your consulate confirming the passport issuance. They will typically transfer the relevant stamps to your new passport. Note that there may be an administrative fee involved at your local office.

If you looked in your passport I'd wager you'd have a stamp that says "Extension Of Stay Permitted Until" and then a date, (probably with the word RETIREMENT stamped in english)
AND
you'd have another stamp that is the multiple re-entry permit. ๐
You take the old passport, the new passport and if you get a letter from your consulate stating you got a passport issued inside the country to the office where you applied for that year extension and multiple re-entry permit.
They will move the stamps from the old passport to the new passport, you have to use the office where you got the year extension to move the stamps.
hi, if i renew my passport in my home country, will my local immigration office move the stamps to my new passport? no letter from embassy needed, right?
, yes. show both passports on entry to Thailand, and get an entry stamp into the new passport based on your extension in the old passport. Bring both passports to your local immigration office and apply for transfer stamps. An embassy letter is not required when you get your new passport in your home country.
