A question about a dependant visa. I am a US/Canada dual citizen in Thailand on a non-O (marriage to a Thai) - original visa that I have to bounce out of the country every 90 days. Visa is on my US passport. I need to either get a new visa in December when I am in Canada or get an extension of stay when I return to Thailand in January.

My daughter is finishing univiersity in December and were looking if it is possible for her to come to Thailand for 6-12months afterwards - she would not work in Thailand. She is 21 (22 in Jan) and is a US/Canada dual citizen. Is there an availible visa or extension for this where we could sponsor her to stay in Thailand with us? Tried to look online on some of the embassy websites but not very clear about dependant visas. TIA.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A US/Canada dual citizen on a NON-O visa in Thailand is seeking information on whether they can sponsor their 21-year-old daughter for a dependant visa or an extension of stay, after her university graduation. It was noted that the dependant visa typically expires at age 20, so alternatives were suggested, including a 6-month Multi-Entry Tourist Visa (METV) that could allow her to stay for up to 9 months.

About all she could do would be to apply for a 6 month METV <-multi-entry tourist visa from either a thai conuslate in the US (using her US passport) or a thai consulate in Canada (using her canadian passport).

That would give her almost 9 months of stay (in 60 day increments).

Nope, the dependent visa (where she could get an extension based on yours) runs out at 20.

Edited; It's 20, not 21 :/

Ok Thanks. Could she come into Thailand on a dependent visa before turning 22 and then stay for a year or would the dependent visa expire as soon as she turns 23?
