TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a Yellow Book and Pink ID card in Thailand, the required documents can vary by local Amphur office. Commonly mentioned documents include a certified copy of your passport, marriage certificate, ID of your Thai spouse, approval from local authorities (Pu Yai Ban), and sometimes a letter from immigration. It's advisable to check with your nearest Amphur for specific requirements, as experiences differ significantly among various provinces.

In my case it was blue book, housemaster present, girlfriend present, passport translated into Thai, letter from immigration, two government employee witnesses to attest I live there.

@Greg *******
Foreigners can not be named in a blue book, it is for Thai people only.

your are correct but they wanted the blue book for where I reside
Michael ********
I had to submit certified copy of passport (used same one as wedding)

Marriage certificate

Wifes ID

And then approval by our local Pu Yai Ban

(Samat sakorn suan luang district)

But as someone said they are all different so get down to your nearest amphur and check

While, I have all paperwork, all translated, all signified, but every time I try to get I sit all day. I've been told straight out. The one paperwork I'm missing is the envelope.

lol. You must be missing something else. I'm not married to a Thai and don't own property so no yellow book for me. I find the Thai driving license works fine
Terry ********
John. Why are you even responding to this? Congratulations for using your driver's license. But seriously, does it add any info to the question? Slow afternoon I'm guessing.

@Terry *******
why not? It does of course add the info that a Thai drivers license is good for id, I do everything with it that a pink card would provide.

not missing anything. It's just I can't go 3

hours to CNX for a residential certificate and pay 500-1000 every time I need one. I understand yellow book is dick, but nice to have. I am fully licensed of course. Just they set the rules then they don't follow them.

And a prayer. I've waited 52 weeks now. Going to renew my extension on Friday then back to the Amphur office to submit new copies of my 12 mth extension. As previous comment it all depends on the office. Some people I know have got it all same day different office/province.

You will have to contact your local Amphur to ask which documents are required as every Amphur is different. Some only require your passport others require a whole lot more.
