TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a yellow book in Thailand for a Thai wife and a foreign husband, it's recommended to visit the local Amphoe office to inquire about the necessary requirements. An agent is not needed if you have the correct documents and witnesses. One individual mentioned successfully completing the process at their local office where they had also handled their marriage license. Typically, a Thai citizen receives a blue book, while a foreigner receives a yellow book unless alternative arrangements have been made for property ownership. Learning Thai or English, or utilizing an agency, may be beneficial for navigating the process.

As I understand it a Thai citizen will get blue book, only foreigner have a yellow, unless your own a condo where its agreed a foreigner can you a blue book. As already started you need to go to the Amphur office, locally.

Go to the local Amphoe office and ask for the requirements. Mine below in Thai. You don’t need an agent just the right documents and witnesses. My local gov office gave me the forms to complete and one was for the head of our moo to complete which meant we did not need him to go to the appointment with us.
