Hi I am a UK national and have just moved out of Bangkok to Kalasin and am attempting to get my Yellow House Registration book at my inlaws address. The application is supported by the family and Thai wife is 4 months pregnant.

1/ I have been told I need to get a Certified copy of my Passport and it appears my Birth Certificate also (they need to confirm parents name, occupation and place of birth) - do I get this from the British Embassy and then translate at an authorised translation service ...then have the translated copy certified at Chaeng Wattana??? Is there an easier way?

2/ Presently my Marriage Visa is from Savannakhet. I have read some forums stating that I will be unable to get the Yellow book unless my Immigration Address tallies with the Yellow book address. This makes sense in principle but given I have a Visa from outside Thailand is there a way to change the address in Immigrations' System? or does this not matter?

Looking forward to your advice

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK national living in Kalasin is seeking advice on obtaining a Yellow House Registration book at their in-laws' address. They are unsure about the need for certified documents, including their passport and birth certificate, and whether these should be processed through the British Embassy and translated in Thailand. Additionally, they inquire about the implications of having a marriage visa issued outside of Thailand and whether their immigration address needs to match the Yellow book address.
