TLDR : Answer Summary
The community is discussing the requirements to obtain a Yellow House Book in Thailand, which are contingent on the specific Amphur you visit. Users provided personal experiences, mentioning the need for documents like a Non-immigration Visa, a Pink ID card, and cooperation from the house owner. Responses suggest that while information is available online, visiting the local Amphur for tailored guidance is advisable due to variations in requirements.

And while this is an interesting topic is it not all that much visa related. There is a plethora of information out on the inter-web about getting a yellow house book (something of marginal value) and getting a pink foreign i/d card here (equally marginal value ;) )

Good Luck we're done.

Amphur Sansai Changwat Chiang Mai i did the following: Non-immigration Visa. Pink ID Card for foreigners. Work permit and a few documents filled out by the house owner (blue book) in my case my boyftiend but its not necessary it is your partner. And a few pics too i believe. All in all it took less than 5 days to get it. But we are lucky, very friendly staff in our amphur.

It appears
@Val***
, applied for the yellow book and got the pink foreigner thai i/d card on the same day. That is not all that uncommon actually. AND in fact they issue the i/d card on the spot BUT have to type up the yellow book (meaning you come back for it)

I remember now. They sent me to the next building to get the pink card which i got the next day. But the first lady did start the process for the yellow book anyway. She said to bring in the pink card as soon as i got it. When i did the yellow book was finished and ready to pickup same day afternoon.

How do I get the pink I/D Card?

@Tod ********
well i did all that in the same week when we bought the house and moved here.... and i might be confused and gotten the pink card first and then the yellow book. Again, easy going here and it took less than a week and maybe 3 visits in all.

most amphurs make you get the yellow book FIRST before they will issue you a 10 year pink foreigner i/d card for 60 baht

These are the requirements to get one from the Khlong Toei Amphur in Bangkok, BUT each amphur has slightly different criteria. I'd say swing by and ask them or get the hand out.

Sorry this one is in thai (this being thailand ;) )

Thanks, Tod. I have been getting the total runaround. The amphur wants a green Thai stamp. Been to Ubon Ratchathani two times in the last three month. Now they want a certified copy of my Australian passport with a green stamp.Took all the paperwork there. Translation of my marriage certificate and passport translated by Thai consulate in Australia. Still not good enough.
