TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers around the requirement for proof of funds for a 6-month DTV (Dependant Tourist Visa) extension in Thailand. Users comment on the necessity of proof of funds when extending in-country versus when leaving and re-entering. There are varying experiences shared, indicating that although proof may not always be enforced, it is prudent to be prepared for checks at immigration. The necessity of such requirements is acknowledged, highlighting the importance of being financially prepared for unforeseen circumstances.
What's a 6 month check? Do you mean an in-country extension?

Reports of people who went to their local immigration office seeking a 6 month extension they had to show everything like they were trying to get a new DTV
The I/O you stand before when entering at a border crossing has the authority to ask for any and everything…always remember since you’re not a citizen or PR holder the I/O wields the power of the stamp to allow entrance or deny access
With the new protocols going on there may be a change In policy as to what they ask for…it like a new norm will put in place
So my advice be overly prepared for any situation..its better to have and not need than need and not have

What is a 6 months DTV check?
I really hope that after 6 months you still have the e-mail with the visa and did not change the text.

What do you mean with 6 month DTV check?
When you extend in country at an immigration office you have to proof funds.
When you enter the requirements tell you need the funds, but normally it will not be enforced.
And remember, requirements are there for a reason, they don't require you to have 500K just for fun, but you might need it when you get in unforeseen situations.

If you extend in country yes. If you leave and re-enter then no.
