What is the processing time for a DTV visa application at the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Penang, and can I travel while it's pending?
Hi everyone! Has anyone applied for DTV visa through the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Penang before?
It’s been almost 3 weeks since I submitted my application, but the status is still stuck at “Pending Document Check”. 🥲 Has anyone experienced something similar? How long did it take for your application to move forward?
Also, I understand that we can’t enter Thailand while the visa application is being processed, but does anyone know if we’re allowed to travel to other countries for a holiday during this period?
Or do we literally have to stay in Malaysia and wait indefinitely without knowing when it’ll be approved? 😭

“Pending document check” does NOT give the applicant any usable information, it can change both ways.
The processing time you find on the website of the embassy you apply at, and take into account that right now is high season for visa applications.
