How long does it take to receive an interview after applying for a visa at the Thai Embassy in Vientiane?

Hi, went today at the Vientiane Thai Embassy to pay the 10k cash, do you know how long I need to wait for an answer about interview and how long for interview? Anyone’s done that recently? I really don't want to stay in Laos, I have been inside all day, not even want to go out for a walk or to go the gym :S

TLDR : Answer Summary
The timeline for receiving an interview after paying the 10,000 THB fee at the Thai Embassy in Vientiane varies. Many users reported it typically takes about 7 to 10 days for an interview. Some received notice of their interview within just a day or two, while others noted an interview about a week after application. Post-interview approvals can happen as quickly as a few hours.

Take the train and go to Vang Vieng or Luang Prabang (both places have beautiful landscape) as Vientiane is not a nice city. I applied in Vientiane 2 weeks ago. I applied on a Monday and Wednesday I got the interview for the following Monday. I got the DTV approved 1h after the interview, total of 8 days including the weekend. If I didn't have to send a new photo twice, the process would have been even faster!

Back in February I paid at the embassy, had an email telling me i had an interview the next day and approved before I even got out of the gates. I assume things are taking longer!

Anonymous participant And? Couldn’t you have planned your application better by choosing a different city? You’re applying for a 5-year visa… be patient. That's an amazing opportunity; do you really deserve it?

Have you considered other countries? Bali is great this time of year. And another popular hub for nomads / western passport holding immigrants.

And they aren't Buddhist temples too.

The interview was on day 7 for me, they gave 3 days notice beforehand. A couple hours after interview the DTV was issued. The people I met when paying the 10k fee were all given interviews. This was in March
