ORIGINAL POSTER
Hi question, I had an O-A visa effective 10/30/2024, I received a one year extension effective 10/29/2025 to 10/28/2026. The extension stamp (1 year) is contained in my US passport which I recently replaced with a new US passport effective in January 2026. I will be returning to thailand February 2026. What is the process for transferring the extension stamp to my new passport. I have possession of both passports. I know the TM30 will use the new passport info. THanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you have received a one-year extension on your O-A visa and have since replaced your US passport, you can transfer the extension stamp to your new passport upon returning to Thailand. Upon entry, present both your old and new passports to immigration to have your entry stamp placed in the new one. Afterwards, visit the local immigration office where the extension was issued, bringing both passports and any required forms and copies to complete the transfer of the extension stamp.

You will have to go to the office that issued your extension to get it moved to your new passport. Hopefully, that will not cause you any inconvenience like it did for me.

Did you get a re-entry permit before you left? If you did not, none of this matters.

When you get to Thailand you show your old passport and new passport, and your entry stamp will be put into your new passport. Then you go to your local immigration office and submit whatever forms and copies they require along with both of your passports, and they will move your extension over into the new passport.
