TLDR : Answer Summary
To transfer 800,000 THB into a Thai bank account with KBank, you can bypass the 50,000 THB transfer limit by making multiple transfers or by visiting a branch to perform the full transaction at once. Note that the 50,000 limit is usually for outgoing transfers, which means you can deposit larger sums into your account without issue. Additionally, you can adjust transfer limits via internet banking settings or ask at the branch for assistance.

Put new setting limits amount on from internet bank or ask the branch to do it for you…

You can transfer 800k into the account, the 50k limit applies to transferring money out of the account.

Had a few accounts with Kasikorn bank over 20 years and never had a limit on what I could transfer into the accounts, would seem strange to me that a bank wouldn’t want your money, but hey you never know out here :)

it doesn't from the US. Just use wise or swift. Or even ACH into Bangkok Bank in New York City

It depends on the Bank you are using, some have a 50k limit from overseas, but the restriction might be getting lifted.

Wise shows 1.5-2 million per day for all the big banks

Yes it does now, but not all banks obviously, as the OP is still having an issue. Maybe it's because it's a, new account.

If you know how to use the app you can see which Thai banks are supported and which are not and why. It has nothing to do with the OP and his nonsense about a 50k limit.

It's not about Wise, it's about the limits Thai banks put on overseas transfers into their accounts to counter fraud. Try to keep up.

So tell me where you've heard about limits on incoming transfers from abroad and name those banks. I have several accounts and my transfers via Wise have no ridiculous limits.

My bank did it to me when I changed accounts 2 year ago. So that's why I know they do it. Wise confirmed it too. Get it?

What about the rest of the banks? The limits are imposed by Thailand banks not Wise.

Only a few Thai banks are at the moment supported by Wise. You can get the list in the app. Several other Thai banks are updating their payment systems.

yes there are, I've had this issue before, even the Wise app tells you this. Otherwise the OP wouldn't be asking the question. Get it?

We are not talking about limits with for example Wise. This is about new limits at some thai banks for local transfers. The OP is clueless and have confused those transfers with incoming. Limits at Wise is 2 million baht at KBank and Bangkok Bank and 1,499.000 baht at SCB.500k at the rest of the supported banks. There's no 50k limit anymore. That limit is gone.

It's not a wise limit, it's the banks limit. It's used to stop corruption. Like I already said it may have been removed now, or maybe not on some accounts at certain banks.

It depends on the Bank you are using. I'm still sure the 50k limit still exists, Wise app will tell you when you try to use it sometimes.

I drop £10k from either my hsbc or my wise account (both registered in the uk) every other month with no problems. I do it in £10k increments so the bank don’t hassle me, I did £20k once and they wanted to know everything about what it was for and where it was going.

Yes from some Thai banks regarding overseas transfers. From certain verified accounts it has been lifted, but may still exist on new accounts.

It's for local transfers between Thai banks but not at every bank. A few have very high limits, like Bangkok Bank for older accounts. My limit is 2 million baht.
