TLDR : Answer Summary
To transfer large amounts of money from the EU or US to Thailand, many users recommend using Wise for its speed and competitive rates, with transfers often being instant. Other popular options include Western Union and traditional bank transfers, though the latter can take 3 to 5 days and may incur higher fees due to unfavorable exchange rates. It's important to compare rates and services, especially for substantial transfers, as the costs can vary significantly among methods and depending on the receiving bank.

Wise has a tool to check rates and charges to compare other transfer services. I check it often but use Western Union and don’t have issues with sending more than 50,000 to Krungthai

Wise blocked my account for no reason and all attempts to ask the reason failed. WU better.
Wise works best for me. Good rates, very low charges, and in my experience instant to Thailand. WU is ok, but rates are usually poor. Swift transfers are good but can take a few days and rates/charges are bank dependent.
I see your point but hasn’t really been my experience. Exchange isn’t exactly for that day but most of the time pretty close. But I do see your point. 👍
it’s an ever-changing game but with the internet at our fingertips, it’s worth taking a quick look at the options before transferring especially is moving a lot of money over them. Can save anyone a lot of $.
Most people use Wise to transfer funds from their home bank to their Thai bank account. The only Thai banks that can receive transfers of over 50,000 baht are Bangkok Bank, Kasikorn, and SCB.
