TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion involves obtaining a Spouse Non-O 1-year visa for 5000 baht from the Thai Embassy in Laos, particularly at the consulate in Savannakhet. Users share their experiences, noting that since last year a 400,000 baht bank balance in a Thai account is now required for the application, a change from previous requirements. Detailed documentation needed includes the marriage certificate, spouse's Thai ID, updated bank book, and passport data page. Some commenters highlighted differences in processing requirements across provinces, with added expectations like providing a map and photos for certain locations.

Every province is different! We had to have a map showing where we lived ! And pictures of the 2 of us in every room and in front of our house!

Note the difference between getting the Non O multi entry visa as married to a Thai... last year vs now. NOW you must have proof of a 400,000 Thai baht bank account balance to get the visa. That 400,000 was ๐Ÿšซ not required last year.

Hundreds of people do

You can get it at the thai consulate in Savannakhet, you need to have 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you go apply

you need copies of

-the marriage certificate

-wife's thai i/d

-house book listing

-updated bank book

-data page of your passport

-lao visa/entry stamp

filled out application w/2 passport photos & 5000baht

you need to book an appt online to use the thai consulate in Savannakhet they have a 3 day processing counting the day you apply.

That's how you do it

here's the requirements (they don't list year/long multi-entry but they sell it IF you have the 400K baht in a thai bank for 2 months)
