TLDR : Answer Summary
The current process for obtaining a Non-O marriage visa with multiple entries can be done through Savannakhet or Vientiane, with certain financial requirements. A minimum of 400,000 baht must be seasoned in a bank account for at least two months before application. The total cost for a new Non-O from Laos is approximately 5,000 baht, not including travel, Laos visa, and accommodation expenses. Some applicants have received multi-entry visas with lower funds based on different circumstances, indicating variability in processing.

The financial requirements are the same as a 12 month extension so get that with a multiple re--entry permit for 1900B plus 3800B, the new Non-O from Laos costs 5000B plus you have the travel, Laos Visa and accommodation costs

HCMC issued a year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa based on father of a thai child to someone who showed just 20K baht in a thai bank account. NOW whether they will do that for the same visa based on marriage to a thai is anyone's guess.. Call them, they speak english fine.

Otherwise you bank the 400K for 2 months and go to a thai consulate in Lao

Laos is still offering appointments until at least the end of November. Looks like they'll be among the last to move to the e-visa system..
Nicolas ***********
@Paul ******
thank you .. , looks like i might be going the lao way again but i still need to confirm about whether the bank statement can be from an overseas bank as i don't have the funds within Thailand now and it's obviously too late to transfer now ..
Tod *********
I would say if you're thinking about going to HCMC and applying DON'T be a day counter ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Losing a month on your stamp (you said it's valid until next month the 18th) is nothing compared to NOT being able to get a new year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa ๐Ÿ˜•

I'd see if there were any openings at HCMC and go as soon as you could book one
Tod *********
@Nicolas **********
you cannot use a bank statement from abroad at the thai consulate in Savannakhet to show proof of funds for a year-long multi-entry Non-O based on marriage you have to bank the 400k in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply
Nicolas ***********
@Tod ********
i see .. , i'm on my last entry now and should be out by the 18th next month .. , as it's obviously too late to get the multiple can i still get a single entry three months.., then transfer the money today then apply for the extension thereafter .. ? Looks like it's my only option .. , and by the way, just out of convenience can i still get now a 60 days "visit thai family" now and postpone the lao run.. ? thank you very much
Tod *********
@Nicolas **********
yep you should be able to get the 60 day visit thai family extension without any issue as it doesn't require proof of funds, At least that way you'd buy yourself more time (y) good thinking ๐Ÿ™‚ I should have thought of it too.. ๐Ÿ˜• sorry
Nicolas ***********
@Tod ********
thank you tod, if i get that 60 day visit thai family extension can i get a re-entry permit with such a thing .. ? i still need to get out of the country late October ..
Tod *********
@Nicolas **********
you mean you need to exit/re-enter for some reason other than your current stamp expiring?

Sure get the 60 day visit thai family extension (CHECK with your office because some offices do not add it to your current stamp) then get a single re-entry permit for 1000baht right after you get the 60 days inked in
Nicolas ***********
@Tod ********
could i even be able to apply for the year long extension based on marriage after the 60 days family .. ? ๐Ÿง๐Ÿง๐Ÿง ; cause by then i would have the funds ready for two months in the thai bank ..
Tod *********
@Nicolas **********
you're on a Non-O 90 day entry now right?
Nicolas ***********
@Tod ********
it's expired by the way .. , i'm on my last entry
Nicolas ***********
@Tod ********
NON-O Multiple
Tod *********
@Nicolas **********
then yep, get the money in, get the 60 day extension, and apply for a year extension based on marriage to a thai once the funds are seasoned 2 months and you have less than 30 days left on the stamp you're on

and sadly you have high jacked this thread quite a lot, I didn't even notice you weren't the O/P ๐Ÿ˜•

You wanna ask more questions make your own thread

My apologies to

@Tod ********
yes exactly i must be out of the kingdom a couple of days late October and always believed my next visa would be sorted out prior to that but obviously those recent changes will see my plan adjusted i'm afraid.., i'll then request the 60 days family extension with a reentry permit and transfer the 400K here .. , then i should be all set for that new non-o, multiple or not by late December , thanks again Tod

@Tod ********
i think i might call them tomorrow morning so .. , i had plan to go early October but as strange as it seems there isn't any available slot before January 2026 on the HCMC online booking system .. ; back to the lao front if i must change my plan weren't they accepting overseas bank statement lately .. ? or it's been reported only thai bank finally .. ?
Paul *******
@Nicolas **********
January 2026 must be an error.They're moving to the evisa system next month. No more in person applications anymore.
Nicolas ***********
@Paul ******
interesting, thank you. I'll give them a call tomorrow morning
Paul *******
@Nicolas **********
No more in person applications after a certain date in october. When I checked a few days ago, the last appointment was on October 4th.

""" Dear Sir/Madam,the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City prepare the system for start to process THAI E-VISA (Thailand Electronic Visa) From October 7th, Royal Thai Consulate-General will start to process THAI E-VISA (Thailand Electronic Visa) through online system. """ ; damn i'm not sure what to do then as my entry is until the 18th next month but they don't give much of information for that E-Visa especially in regard to processing time .. , maybe i might end go the lao way again then :/
Paul *******
@Nicolas **********
They said up to 30 days but probably shorter. Still, it could be a long wait in the early days. Laos is better as long as you meet their minimum account seasoning requirements (3 months of funds parked in your account).

If it's slightly less than 3 months, but close enough to it, not sure. They might be OK with that but hard to say.
Nicolas ***********
@Paul ******
thank you very much, at least you give me clue that HCMC is unlikely to be my option as i must be out on the 18th ; but what about Lao now last year when i did my NON-O Multiple they didn't request any proof of funds at Savannakhet.., then lately the news was that they are now asking for it but overseas bank statements are accepted .. , but now it's not anymore .. ? Only thai bank and over a time span .. , i'm a bit confused now
Tod *********
Don't be confused, those are the requirements
@Nicolas **********
there is no wiggle room the thai consulate in Savannakhet

For a year-long, multi-entry Non-O based on marriage it requires proof of 400k baht in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply.

They won't take any other proof of funds
Frank *********
@Tod ********
what is HCMC?

would be lost without you much appreciated for your time and information mate
Lloyd ********
Both Savannakhet and Vientiene will issue, but you will need to have 400k baht seasoned for 2 months prior to application.
Nicolas ***********
@Lloyd *******
they won't accept overseas bank statement .. ?
Tod *********
@Nicolas **********
nope they will not.

Hey Lloyd, are you sure about Vientiane? I thought the consulate in Savannakhet was the only one in Laos that issued a Multi Non-O based on marriage.
