What to Expect When Applying for a METV in Hong Kong?

Reporting unsuccessful METV application in Hong Kong: I had all the required documents listed on the Thai consulate Hong Kong website with me, but the staff told me they need to see at least 3 sets of confirmed return tickets, instead of ticket "at least for first entry" as listed on their website. So no METV for me. Applied for a SETV instead, received today.
