Had our online METV's approved yesterday in the UK; my wife and I are both UK citizens, over 70.
Approval was on day 8, probably 5th working day.
We have been going to Thailand for the last 14 years and this was our second online application.
Some learning that may help others.
1. Login to the UK site needs email and password, same as original visa account setup. KEEP AN ACCURATE RECORD, as you can't use the same email address if you forget it!
2. We arrive in Thailand November 12, about 21 days before our condo booking, but didn't need to upload the letter our daughter in law provided to show we were staying with them in BKK before going to the condo in Hua Hin.
3. We provided our flight details for the 4 and a half month stay,(home on 1/4/24) and didn't need to provide evidence that we would do a visa run after 60 days. So we will do what we did last year and get the 30 day extension at Immigration in Hua Hin in January.
Just as well cos couldn't find a flight to Siem Reap in early Jan. (our favourite visa run destination - 40 mins from Don Mueang International Airport)
4. I uploaded 6 months bank details for our joint account on both applications.
5. I used the electoral register letter as proof of UK residency.
6. I used annual pension statements to show income.
7. I uploaded the condo deposit receipt to show accommodation was booked.
The visa website is not the easiest to use and it might just be me, but most questions only take 1 upload, so the second one replaces what you put in originally. Recommend checking all your inputs before pressing the "pay" button and sending your £150.
....... and relax!
