(Singapore, KL, HCMC, Penang....etc) British Passport holder,

The closest thai consulates that will sell a 6 month METV to people who do not reside in that country are the thai consulates in Australia

You cannot get a 6 month METV from ANY thai consulate in S/E Asia without holding legal residence (as in live there/work there) in the country you're applying in.
