Process for 30 day TR extension at hatyai immigration. I understand each provincial procedure may vary, this may be of help to others.Tried unsuccessfully to phone ahead for information, no answer. Arrived in person with thai fiance, there were about three people waiting, the place seemed deserted, we were informed no apptms available this week, directed to use QR code via Line app. to schedule a appointment for next week. To lodge documents ahead of apptm via line. Is this the usual process? Im curious.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The process for extending a 30-day tourist visa at Hatyai Immigration includes visiting the office in person, but it may vary by province. The individual experienced difficulties reaching the office by phone and upon arrival learned that no appointments were available that week. They were directed to use a QR code via the Line app to schedule an appointment and submit documents beforehand. This prompts a question about whether this is the usual process for visa extensions.

You sure they knew you were there for a tourist visa extension?

without wishing to sound disrepectful, both myself and my fiance felt the staff to be unhelpful to the point of obstructionist. They pointed out in what sounded like an acerbic tone, that the only exception to the rule, was if the visa expired today otherwise everything else is directed through the Line app process.

Not heard of anything like that before. As you say each office has its own procedures and quirks.

the seasoned 800k is needed for when you get to the point of needing to extend the Non O visa. There is no financial requirement to extend a tourist visa. And as mentioned no requirement to season the 800k when initially applying for the non O.

thanks for your response.....that's a relief...

Regarding the paragraph where you reference the 800,000 and extension, do you refer to the later extension of the non o retirement? Or do you mean that needs to in my Thai bank by my meeting on Tuesday to extension the TR??

Hi. For the wording just say that you want to extend your holiday. I’m not sure if any offices actually read that part nor care.

You need at least 15 days on a current stamp to apply for a in country non O. The 800,000 doesn’t need to be seasoned at all (that’s for the extension), but does need to be seen to have come from overseas.

Stuart, good morning, greetings from Hatyai.

I have my apptm on Tuesday at Songkhla immigration for my 30 day extension application. I have a few quick questions if I may.

As I'm here on a TR 60 day, and wish to apply for a retirement visa (before later on down the track marriage ) what do I put as the reasons on the form for my extension? Do I say tourism? As that's the TR stamp I arrived on till 25th November currently, Or be totally upfront?and say to season 800,000 and prepare for retirement visa process? Both my fiance and I are a little confused about the wording to use AND the way the tm7 and STM2 is written seems a bit convoluted.

Also if they grant the extension, how many days before that expires should I allow to make my appointment for the retirement visa application? I guess if I need to season the 800,000 for 60 days it's a fairly tight window.

TIA, with kind regards Justin
