Hi. Just want to verify some info. Here now on 30 day exemption. Want to extend in Jomtien for first time ever. American passport holder.

In searching it appears Jomtien office will not issue extensions unless less than 1 week before 30 day expiration date. Is this correct? Cost is 1,900 baht. Is extension guaranteed or do they ever get denied? Just don’t want to make additional hotel bookings if not sure extension will be given.

Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
An American passport holder currently in Thailand on a 30-day visa exemption is seeking to extend their stay at the Jomtien immigration office. They want to confirm that the office will only issue extensions if the application is made less than a week before the visa expiration. Additionally, they are inquiring about the cost of 1,900 baht and whether extensions are guaranteed or if denials occur.
