TLDR : Answer Summary
The process of changing your Immigration Office (IO) while on a one-year Non-O retirement extension involves filing a TM30 form for your new address. If you have moved to a different province, you might also need to file a TM28 change of address form, depending on the specific requirements of the new immigration office. It is advisable to ensure proper TM30 registration at your new location and confirm whether a rental agreement is required, especially if you are residing in a house owned by a family member. Some users suggest that a TM30 from a hotel can suffice for 90-day reporting but may not be adequate for extending your non-O visa. It may also be beneficial to inquire at your local bank about the procedures for switching branches, as keeping your account active during the transition is important.

The background to this is that I did my extension at pathum Thani and all went smoothly issued within an hour .So I asked my wife to explain to the officer that we go to see the in laws in yasothon a lot so wont be about if they do a home visit. He didn’t speak to me but my wife thought he said that my extension would be canceled if I’m not home .We have a friend in the same office who said the home visit is not important. So I am not sure who to believe. If I change IO to yasothon it will be easier to manage because we are in a village with a head man who can vouch for me if we aren’t present if they did a home visit

get your wife to file a TM30 for you within 24 hours of your arrival, then contact the new immigration office and see if they also want you to file a TM28 change of address form. Other than that everything should carry on as normal

I will do that asap but want to visit bank branch first to see about switching branches .If a Thai switches they have to close their account and open a new one .I can’t do this because there would be a gap in my account balance so will have to ask first what the procedure is

Ian Carman relocate into a hotel, get their TM30 receipt, visit the local Immigration and ask them if this is sufficinet an accommodation proof for the application to the next one-year extension of temporary stay. In case they say that you need a rental contract (which is unlikely if you have a TM30 from a hotel) then you must do so and find a place to rent for a minimum of some months

It should just be filing a new TM30 but some Immigration Offices might still require a TM28 change of address form as well.

Ian Carman You can theoretically accommodate in a hotel when doing your application to the extension. Many IO are okay with the hotel's TM30 if you have booked a hotel for 10 days or more

Stephen Howell The rules of most Immigration offices say "rental contract (only when applicable)" which means you only need to show it IF you got one. You can theoretically accommodate in a hotel when doing your application to the extension

Stephen Howell wrong, he is NOT on a Non-O/A, he is on a 1-year extension of stay out of a former 90-days Non-O visa

Ian Carman you do generally not need to show any rental contract when applying for the extension, however you need to be properly TM30 registered in an accommodation in order to be able to apply at an Immigration office that serves the location of this accommodation. I apply for my annual extension of stay with a TM30 registered by my girlfriend's house, I do not need a rental contract by her. The rules of most Immigration offices say "rental contract (only when applicable)" which means you only need to show it IF you got one. You can theoretically accommodate in a hotel when doing your application to the extension

So do I just do a TM 30 and report at new office for my 90 day and that’s all ?

Ian Carman You have to show a lease agreement when extending a non-O. A TM30 works for 90-day reporting, but not for an extension
