Hello, I would like to ask for some advice. My husband is Dutch, and we have a marriage certificate as well as our child’s birth certificate. We are planning to live permanently in Thailand, and he will need a Non-O visa. However, I don’t have any knowledge about the process. Some people told me he should apply it himself , while others said better buy service from an agency. I’m still unsure and don’t have enough information. If anyone could help, I would be very grateful. πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around obtaining a Non-O visa for the user's Dutch husband, emphasizing the importance of applying based on their marriage certificate and child's birth certificate. Community members provide insights on whether to apply independently or through an agency, with many suggesting that the husband can apply for the visa himself either online in the Netherlands or upon arriving in Thailand if he meets financial requirements.

you are welcome and remember...as soon as you arrive in Thailand, your husband has to open the bank account! I know that as soon as you Thai women return from abroad, you have to go visit all your relatives and friends, you have to introduce your husband to everyone πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ but think about opening the bank account first, it's important! Just out of curiosity...where are you going to live? My wife and I live in the province of Udon Thani

@Chrysanthemum ****
if he can open a bank account he can apply in Thailand, if he can't then Laos is a good plan. I'd visit your local immigration office with your husband and get their handouts for the various scenarios

The Non-O based on retirement is the simplest visa to get in terms of requirements. Check out what you need to apply on the e-visa website.

he not yet can do retirement πŸ˜…
Graham ******
@Chrysanthemum ****
If he is under 50 them the retirement Non-O is not an option but married to a Thai or father to a half-Thai child are his options but the paperwork is greater

@Graham *****
and they said he should go Laos to get NON O that process I totally don’t know how
Graham ******
@Chrysanthemum ****
You will need to get your Non-O visas from outside of Thailand if you do not already have a Thai bank account that can be funded to meet the financial requirements (unless your Embassy still does the income affidavit)
