What is the process for adding a dependent on to a Non-B visa?

Looking to add my wife (US Citizen) to my work visa. Will apply for my visa in the UK in the summer when home. Does she get added on after mine is all sorted or at the same time? Where will she get added on (UK or when we return to Thailand)?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
To add your wife as a dependent on your Non-B visa, she will need her own Non-O visa. This can be applied for either simultaneously with your Non-B visa application in the UK or separately in Thailand. If she enters Thailand on a 30-day visa exempt status, obtaining her Non-O visa can typically be done at immigration in Thailand; however, having a letter from your employer is advisable to support her application.

If I was to get my Non-B in the UK and my wife come back to Thailand on 30 day visa exempt how easy would it be to get her Non-O in Thailand?

Would she have to leave Thailand to do it or can it be done at immigration in Thailand?

@Vi***
you should both be able to do it at the same time as long as you have the letter from your company stating that it is okay by them that they issue the Non-O to your spouse too

I was just looking into London Thai embassy where we would have to get the Non-B and Non-O done, it reads like I would have to get the Non-B first and then she applies for Non-O, any idea if both can be done at the same time? I think it said part of evidence she needs is my Non-B visa.

I have see people report successes and failures in getting 90 day Non-O visas for the "trailing spouse" reason (being married to a foreigner who legally works here).

Some offices will do it, some will send you out of the country to get it instead. I think it's a crap shoot.

Thanks Tod!

She doesn't get "added on" to anything, she will hold her own Non-O visa and when you get a yearly extension, she will get a matching one based on being married to a foreigner that legally works here

I would think the translated copy would be sufficient for a visa from London but someone more qualified than me, should confirm. I needed mine legalised and certified for an Extension applied for in Thailand.

we got married in China and the marriage certificates translated into English in China and also translated into Thai in Bangkok (for our daughters passport). If we are getting Non-B and Non-O in UK (London), what will we need to take in terms of marriage certificates?

Make sure your marriage certificate has been legalised in the country where you married and then certified by the Thai Embassy in that country. If the certificate is not in English it will also need to be translated.

Have a letter from your company stating it's okay that your wife be issued a Non-O visa based on you being employed by them on a Non-B.

Apply for your Non-B and her Non-O at the same time.

It goes without saying that your wife would have to be there with you when you apply. You can't do it for her.

If she can't go to the UK to get the 90 day Non-O with you, she can get it from a thai consulate in a nearby country, once you come back on your Non-B, using the marriage certificate and the documents from the company saying you're employed and it's okay that she has a Non-O based off your Non-B.
