What is the process for applying for a 7-day extension versus a 60-day extension in Thailand?
I was hoping for advice on a possible 7 day extension. Im in Bangkok currently and my 60 day extension expires on the 26th. Is the process basically the same to apply for a 60 day covid extension as a 7 day extension? I figure if its basically the same waiting time I should just get the 60 day extension.
Answer summary
A user in Bangkok is inquiring about the process for getting a 7-day extension for their visa, which expires soon. They want to know if the application process for a 60-day COVID extension is similar to that of a 7-day extension. A commenter clarifies that the 7-day option is essentially an 'application for extension not approved' stamp, which allows for a week's grace period to leave Thailand, and that both extensions cost 1900 baht.

they both cost 1900baht and that 7 days is not an extension it's an "application for extension not approved" stamp that gives you a week to leave thailand.

OPThanks Todd. Any idea how long the process is at the airport for a 1 day overstay?

if it's an overstay of under 24 hours they will waive the 500baht fine and just put a stamp in thai next to your departure stamp saying "overstay under 24 hours fine waived" and let you go.Activity
