Can I get a 7-day COVID extension at immigration in Chiang Mai before my flight?

ORIGINAL POSTER
My last 45 day covid extension is up on Monday. I'm hoping I can go into immigration in Chiang Mai and get a 7 day extension before my flight either to the states or to another country.

Here are my questions-

Is the 7 day extension happening for others?

Could I go in earlier (say tomorrow) and still get the additional 7 days?

Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking information regarding the possibility of obtaining a 7-day COVID extension at immigration in Chiang Mai as their 45-day extension is expiring soon. They inquire if this extension is currently being granted and if they can apply for it earlier than the expiration date. Responses indicate that the 7-day extension is not truly an extension but a short grace period following an application rejection. Additionally, there are restrictions on obtaining another COVID extension based on prior visa types.

Why not apply for another COVID extension?

Oh...looking at your prior post you have had an Ed Visa while in Thailand...and that means not eligible for another COVID extension under the new rules

"Hi,

If I have arrived in Thailand on a Tourist visa (over two years ago), switched to an Education visa, and now I've been on a covid ext. visa for the past year, am I eligible for another Covid-19 visa extension on March 20th?

Thanks so much. Michael"

It is NOT an Extension, it is NOT an additional extra days.

IF your application is NOT approved, you get a stamp in your passport and 7 days to pack your bags and leave the country. These 7 days start counting at the moment the stamp hits your passport.
