Simple question: what is the penalty for failure to do 90-day check-in on time (i.e., within 7 days after one's due date)?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The penalty for failing to file a 90-day check-in report in Thailand on time is typically a fine of 5,000 THB, which is commonly reduced to 2,000 THB. However, during specific amnesty periods, such as from August 1 to August 31, there may be no penalty for late filing of reports originally due between March 26 and July 31.

The fine is normally set at 5000 thb but commonly reduced to 2000 thb. That's what CM immigration told me, the one time I was late, a few years back.

I am on annual extension. I use the IMMeService App to do my 90Day report every 76 days.Takes about five minutes.I just put a reminder in the calendar on my phone...

the eServices mobile app has been hanging and glitching for a good while now. That you can get it to work is great but a LOT of people are reporting it won't

I have it on iOS

They were just blowing smoke up your backside, and that is not correct AT ALL,:(

The maximum the fine can be IF you're arrested and it comes out you didn't file a 90 day report is 5000baht & they can assess you a 200 baht a day fine on top of that for every day from the last time you filed your 90 day report until you file again.

BUT

the fine for failure to file when you are late (and just go in and file) is ALWAYS 2000baht and that is whether you're 8 days late or 8 months late..

Thanks for clarifying that.

I’m not sure Tod is correct.

Immigration is open for all services as normal.

The amnesty is for people stuck here not one year visa holders.

I missed a 90 day stamp due to first ‘break’, when I went before start of August I received 90 days FROM visit day.

Not a 90 day from day I missed as I was expecting.

Call immigration or visit, will save time in long run would be my advice.

Tod is spot on. The immigration gave a grace to all visa holders but must report before the end of the month ( August ) or else a fine
Tod *********
That is not completely true
@Ma**
. people on long stay visa/extensions DID have the option of not filing a 90 day report from March 26 to July 31 if they didn't want to AND it was specifically mentioned in this new amnesty (that runs to the 26th of Sept) that anyone who had taken amnesty and not filed a 90 day report needed to GO file one between Aug 1st and Aug 31st
Tod *********
you ALWAYS get a new 90 day report date that is 89 days from the date you apply EVEN if you took amnesty and didn't apply until now.

The penalty for failing to file a 90 day report on time is a 2000baht fine. BUT

from now until the 31st of August there is no penalty because the new amnesty that came into effect stated anyone who decided not to file a 90 day report from March 26 to July 31st now has from Aug 1 to Aug 31 to file and there will be no penalty for late filing.

SO go file before the end of the month and you should be fine. ;)

Same situation for me, posted it July 30, Chaeng Wattana received it August 3rd. All documents and envelope with stamp for them to return the receipt.

Still not got it. Due day was today August 14th.

I was in the same situation. Got package delivered to CW on 17th, ordinarily I would be getting it back in 3 weeks. Thanks for the clarification,

BUT, my due date was August 10. I submitted be mail (which was received by Immigration at Chaengwattana on July 24) and have never received a response. If the worst is a monetary fine, I will just wait to see if it shows up in the mail this month.

@Chip ***********
If you mailed it in and it was post marked at least 14 days before your due date, you have proof they received it and you enclosed a self addressed stamped envelope so they can mail you the receipt you're fine.

Remember you are mailing a 90 day report to the C/W address BUT they moved that 90 day reporting section (Section A) out to MTT :O So there is some delay in getting the applications processed and mailed back.

I would go with the premise that your next 90 day report is due 89 days from July 24th <- the day they received your 90 day report SO don't panic until that date (Oct 21) gets closer ;)

Thank you!

and did you enclose the self addressed stamped envelope like you always do when you mail in your application?
