TLDR : Answer Summary
In Thailand, you can submit your 90-day report within 15 days before the report is due and up until 7 days after the due date without incurring a penalty fee. However, if you report on the 8th day after the due date or later, you will incur a fine. It's advisable to handle the report promptly to avoid complications, but you can also report it during your next visit to immigration for another reason. Reporting online is an option that can help manage reminders.

Much easier to report on line from home. You even get a reminder email which helps the forgetful.

Don’t worry about that, get it sorted as soon as possibel, any delay will make things worse, and give the Immigration reason to think you don’t have control over your things.

The window for doing a 90-day report is 15 days before through 7 days after.

On day 8 you would have to pay a fine. But you should not make a trip to immigration just to pay the fine. It's the same fine whether you are 8 days late or 8 months late. So if you miss reporting, just wait until the next time you'll be going to immigration for another reason and pay it then.

yeah. I go once a year, the week before I need to renew my visa. I just pay my 1900 baht and I'm done with it. It has never had any affect on my visa and the fine is the same. That way if I forgot again, I'd have to pay another 1900 baht. Once a year is fine with me.

I mean if you can make it every 90 days and never forget, then keep doing what you're doing. But for me, it literally costs 700 baht per round trip to go and come back, so it's just easier going once a year and paying 1900 baht. That way I don't need to worry about missing it by a week or forgetting. It's not something that I think about, you know? Plus, unless I'm there at like 6:30 in the morning, I usually have to wait until after 2:00pm and spend most of the day there just waiting in the queue. Last time, I had like 200 people ahead of me. Long damn day. Once a year is enough.

why not report on line? They send you an email to remind you when it is due again.

Why don't you just do it online?

I've tried to do it online and a lot of the time, it says the website wouldn't load or it wasn't working and then I would forget about it. But even if I did it online, I would still forget to do it sometimes because it's just not something I think about. 3 months between check ins is just annoying. I've lived here for 18 years and I don't know why they need me to check in every 3 months to just say "Hey, I'm still here!" But whatever. They can have their 1900 baht.

how? Some people never do a 90 day report and just consider the once a year 2000 fine as part of their extension fee. There's no other penalty for missing a 90 day report besides a 2000 baht fine.

correct. My buddy in Bangkok is doing exactly this - during the past 29 years he's been living in Thailand, he has never ever made a 90-days report 😄 when we have a beer together we always share a good laugh about this
