Hello all ❣️

I am on an extension of stay for an education visa (US passport). What is the minimum duration of stay outside of Chiang Mai that would require an update to my TM 30 upon return? Ex: I am planning to spend 3-5+ days in Lampang. Also do I need to do a TM 30 in Lampang or will the hotel handle it due to the short stay?

Thank you in advance ❣️

Answer summary

The user, holding a US passport and on an education visa extension, inquired about the minimum duration outside of Chiang Mai that would necessitate updating their TM 30 upon return. They also asked whether the hotel would handle the TM 30 for a short stay in Lampang. A comment from the community indicated that the TM 30 update is only required if traveling abroad.
