Hello! I have plans to travel to Vientiane to apply for a SETV. This embassy was recommended to me in this group as one of the 'easy' ones, but I am now getting nervous seeing more recent reports that they are denying people with only 1 prior tourist visa.
I am US Passport holder, currently on a 60 day SETV obtained in the US, which will be extended.
My only other history is one VE entry to Thailand this January, and one in November 2018. Both were by air and both were extended.
Does it sound likely that I will be rejected for a second tourist visa?
And if I am denied a visa at the embassy, does that impact my likelihood of getting through the land border? This would be my first entry to Thailand by land.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, a US passport holder, is anxious about applying for a second SETV at the Vientiane embassy due to recent reports of increased rejections. They have previous extensions on tourist visas and are worried about the implications of applying for a visa after such history, especially when transitioning to a land border entry into Thailand. Community members provide varied insights, emphasizing the need for thorough preparation, including proof of funds and previous visa documentation, while some express that outcomes can be unpredictable.
