Second question:

I havebeen in Thailand 3 years and 2 months. Did tourist visas for first year. Then was on non b with wp for 19 months then I have done 2 more SETV to Vientiane with extensions, while living in sarahkam. Will I have any issues obtaining a third SETV in a row from Vientiane? After this will be back in Bangkok and would like to do non o edu visa.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has been living in Thailand for over three years, initially using tourist visas and later transitioning to a Non-B visa associated with a work permit. They are inquiring about the potential issues of obtaining a third Single Entry Tourist Visa (SETV) from Vientiane after having already utilized multiple tourist visas and the Non-B visa. The conversation also touches on aspects of parental rights in Thailand if fathering a child with a Thai woman without marriage, specifically in regards to visa options and extensions.

, having a child with a thai woman out of wedlock unfortunately grants you no parental rights as the father. It doesn't matter if your name is on the birth certificate or the child has a passport from your country, you have no parental rights and can't use the child to get a yearly extension of stay based on supporting a half thai child here.

You would have to go thru family court and get granted parental rights, which if the mother agrees to it is not that hard to do but takes about 4 to 6 months to get thru the court system.

You could get a 90 day single entry Non-O visa from the thai consulate in Savannakhet Lao with just your name on the birth certificate, the mother's thai i/d and the child's house book listing. BUT you couldn't get a yearly extension inside the country at the immigration office. You could only get a 60 day visit family extension until you went thru family court.

I know foreigners who have kids by thai women they weren't married to who have been getting those 90 day Non-O visas and the 60 day extensions for years and years.

nope, you don't need a dna test or anything like that for family court unless the mother is fighting you on it. IF the mother has no problem with you getting granted parental rights it's just mostly waiting for the hearing, waiting for the decision, waiting to go hear the decision. It's not tough at all to do

I would imagine IF you both live in bangkok now you could use the Bangkok Family Court no matter where the kids are listed on a house book.

Your first stop would be for you and the children's mother to go to the family court office here in Bangkok and see what's what about it.

Yeah, I knew it is not easy. I think I need, DNA test, mother and mother's family support and perseverance in the Thai family court. Would I have to do it in the court here in sarahkam (babies registered housebook location) or could we do it in Bangkok?

did you get a red warning stamp from Vientiane on your last tourist visa? If not, you shouldn't have any problem getting another visa from them.

The warning stamp looks like these
