Hey all.

What’s the current state of the 60 day covid extensions? I’ve done my first 30 day extension and they told me I could come back to extend for a further 60 days if I wanted. This was at Muang Thong Thani immigration.

Just curious what the current expiry date is to be able to do the 60 day extension? My current one runs out on the 4th of September and I have a piece of paper saying I should go 2-3 weeks before it expires to further extend.

Also, what is the difference in terms of paperwork and things you need to bring/do for the 60 day extension? Is it the same as the 30 day or are there some differences?

Thanks all, have a good one!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires about the current status of the 60-day COVID extension in Thailand, specifically after having already received a 30-day extension. The user seeks clarification on the expiration date for applying for the additional 60 days and the required paperwork compared to the initial 30-day extension. There are comments indicating that the cut-off date for eligibility for the 60-day extension appears to be around the end of September.

A slightly updated version for you.

You’ll need this stuff. Not all offices have the same requirements so it may be slightly different depending on which of the 70+ offices you use.

A copy of your passport data page (signed),

A passport photo,

Proof of filing a TM30,

A copy of your departure card (TM6) (signed)

A copy of your latest entry stamp (signed)

A copy of any previous Covid extension stamps (signed) (Phuket requires this other offices may not)

In Phuket they require the copies to be in portrait not landscape. This means the top of your passport aligns along the shorter side of the A4. Except for the Data Page where most passports are “sideways”

(Other offices may not be as pedantic)

A filled out TM7 (application form for extensions) - the form doesn’t have a space for your email or phone number but just write it on the back (page 2).

A filled out STM2 (acknowledgement that you understand the rules for overstaying)

A filled out “I don’t want to leave because of Covid form” - I have no idea if it has an official name or number.

And 1,900 baht.

The forms are available at your local office. Most have places on site or nearby that can do the copies and photos.

Many offices will give you a “under consideration” stamp requiring you to return somewhere from 5-14 days later where they will stamp for the remaining 60 days.

Would be interested if MTT is as pedantic as Phuket in their requirements.

hi Stuart. When to MTT today it was unbelievably quiet. The whole time I was there I think I saw 10 ppl who weren’t immigration. Only me and one other person there to do an extension. The whole process went smooth I made my copies near the entrance and they handed me all the forms; TM7, STM2 and a I don’t want to leave because of Covid form. Filled them out and handed it to the guy. I wasn’t sure what box to tick on the I don’t want to leave because of covid form so I ended up ticking the one that states the pandemic is still ongoing in my country.

Didn’t get an under consideration paper or anything. They didn’t ask more about the reasons for my extension. Just handed me my passport with the new 60 day extension.

Wasn’t expecting it to be that smooth or that quiet but pleasantly surprised.

Okok brilliant then. Do you happen to know what papers I need to bring for the 60 day extension? Is it the same as the 30 day papers?
