TLDR : Answer Summary
A person in Chiang Mai, currently on a tourist visa with a recent 30-day extension valid until May 11, is inquiring about the right timing and necessary documents for applying for a 60-day COVID extension. Comments suggest applying close to the expiration of the current stamp with similar documentation as the 30-day extension.

Hi Julian why didn't you get the 60 days cover extension directly? Did they not allow that?

Some offices MAKE you take the 30 day 'regular' extension before you can apply for the 60 day covid extension.

Same stuff (form, copies, photo) you just used to get that 30 day extension, and apply close to when your current stamp is running out because 60 day covid extensions start the day you apply for them
