What is the situation if you have a 12 month 'non o' visa (retirement), have left Thailand on exit/re-entry and you are back in the UK and your passport expiry date is during the time back in the UK - are visas and exit/ reentry stamps transferred to a new passport? Are you able go keep old passport with visa and stamps in? I am unsufe of the process, any advice/experiences? ✍
TLDR : Answer Summary
If you hold a non-O visa for Thailand, it's important to note that this visa is typically valid for 90 days, after which you can apply for a 1-year extension based on retirement. If you renew your passport while in the UK and your visa extension is still valid, you can carry both the old and new passports when re-entering Thailand. It is necessary to visit a local immigration office to transfer your extension and stamps from the old passport to the new one. Furthermore, the Thai immigration authorities are accustomed to handling such cases, and the embassy provides a letter for the passport change which aids in the process.
