TLDR : Answer Summary
The best way to obtain a 90-day visa for Thailand is to initially apply for a single entry tourist visa from the eVisa website associated with the Thai consulates in the US. This option avoids the medical insurance requirement linked to the 90-day Non-O visa. Upon arrival in Thailand, you receive a 60-day entry stamp, after which you must transfer 400,000 baht into a Thai bank account under your name. You can then apply for an in-country 90-day Non-O visa based on marriage to a Thai citizen at a local immigration office, which costs 2,000 baht. After holding the 90-day visa for less than 30 days, and with funds in your bank account for at least 2 months, you may apply for a year extension of stay for 1,900 baht. Always consider applying well in advance, ideally one to two months before your intended travel.

Actually the best way to do that would be to get a single entry tourist visa from the eVisa website that the 4 thai consulates still open in the US use.

That way you don't need any medical insurance (which IS required if you buy the 90 day Non-O visa from the US at a thai consulate)

Come here get stamped in for 60 days, get your 400K baht transferred into a thai bank account in your name only and go apply for the in country 90 day Non-O visa based on marriage to a thai at the immigration office in the area where you live for 2000baht.

The application will go under review, then you go back to get the Non-O visa and a new 90 day stamp inked in.

Once the funds have been in your thai bank account for 2 months and you have 30 days or less left on that 90 day stamp you can go back and apply for the year extension of stay based on marriage for 1900baht.

That will go under consideration for 30 days then you go back to get the year extension inked in

now if you're set on applying for that 90 day Non-O visa before you wing your way here, you do it from the evisa website online in the US.

The visa is valid for 90 days from the date it's issued <- meaning you have that long to ENTER thailand and when you do (even if it's the last day the visa is valid for) you will get stamped in for 90 days.

here's the link to the website (from AZ you select the thai consulate in Los Angeles as your choice)

Contact the consulate in Los Angeles. You will need 400,000 baht ($12.000) to get the extension. You will need to show about half to apply for the visa.
