Answer summary
The discussion revolves around whether to hire an agent or apply personally for the DTV (Digital Nomad) remote working Visa from the UK. Many commenters suggest that applying directly is straightforward and that agents only facilitate the submission of documents. Several individuals share positive experiences applying independently, emphasizing the importance of adhering to application requirements and providing the correct documentation. There are also reminders that demonstrating a stable income and proper business structure can aid the application process.

You can do yourself, my 2 aussie mates did it, pretty straightforward.

Any agent is just submitting the documents on your behalf. Agents don't magically get you a visa if you don't qualify.

I did it myself. Ask AI what documents you need and it will also give you a good draft cover letter you can personalise.

I mean if you have to much money and want to give it away I'd be happy to tell you the forms to gather ie cut and paste from the website. Lol

As John said you will have to do all the work anyway. If you were in Thailand and wanted to ho soft power and were marginal an agentcmight be able to help get everything together before sending you across the border to apply. But it is pretty straightforward and if you meet the requirements you should be fine.

I did mine and I'm an idiot. Lol You will be fine. Most of the advice on the forum is good. Just remember when you write yourself a letter saying you can work from Thailand to phrase it as a business owner talking about am employee. Not talking about yourself. If you have a formal business structure use your titles etc. The more official it looks the better.

They will probably request more info just provide what they adk for ( and nothing else). Much like talking to any government agent the more you say the more opportunities to get in trouble. Lol

just keep it simple. Just say that you are an officer of company x and your employee (you) is paid y yearly and allowed to work remotely. For extra credit you could stress that they are not allow to do business with anyone inside of Thailand.

Then show the bank statements showing your deposits, IE paychecks. You might get some flack if they are all over the place, but if you write your pay is base + commission that would clear it up.

Always remember they are basically looking to make sure you aren't going to get here and: A) run out of money or B) work illegally. As long as your information shows that it is fine.

Darren Johnson do you have an example of the letter .. the thing that I’m

Confused about id whether to send as I’m a business owner ( partnership with husband) but we get paid monthly from our consortia and not directly from customers would I just send

bank statements for our joint account showing income

Then we will have the required amount in our savings ( each of us separately )

Then the letter I’m not sure how to write it 🫣

I doubt an agent is worth it in your case as you are going to have to supply all of the documentation to the agent that you would have to supply anyway to apply yourselves for DTV applications based on Workation
