Hi, I'm came into Thailand with AXA travel insurance via Test and Go. Now my insurance is expired after 60 days. I am on a tourist visa still and will be converting to education visa soon... which insurance policy would suit me now? Should I rebuy the same policy?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has entered Thailand on a tourist visa and initially had AXA travel insurance which has now expired. They are planning to convert to an education visa and are inquiring about suitable insurance policies to cover their needs. Comments suggest consulting brokers for appropriate policies, clarify that insurance is not mandatory for an education visa, and recommend affordable options based on health status.

If you’re healthy and not too old, insurance is pretty affordable. Unfortunately i wasn’t lucky with multiple pre existing conditions. Usually you only get a travel insurance from outside the country

I think insurance is not required for edu visa. If you get a new insurance policy to cover you in case you get sick, ok...but not required to extend your stay.

When I first moved here I got food poisoning real bad. Ambulance picked me up, ER visit, medications, IV, 3 days 2 nights in a private hospital cost me 20k baht. Public hospital would have been

the price, probably less.

As Michael said, you don't have to spend a lot of money on health care here unless you go for fancy private hospitals.

Contact arawan namak or any other broker with your requirements. If you are not planning on leaving country you are not bound by the
*****
us$ requirement. Which is way too much in my opinion.

Singapores is half that and health services costs there probably at least five times the cost.

Search arawan namak or i have one other broker

you can contact. She is not member of group so just click on link and send message
