The post seeks advice on obtaining medical insurance for a 71-year-old expat in Thailand. Multiple comments suggest that it is possible to get insurance at this age, with recommendations to shop around due to the variety of available plans. Some specific companies and brokers are mentioned, such as Pacific Prime/Luma and AIA Bangkok. Users emphasize the importance of having a responsive insurance agent, particularly one who can communicate well in the user's language. Additionally, some have successfully secured coverage despite being older or having pre-existing conditions.

Pacific Prime/Luma. You can get different plans and up to 74 years old

You should be ok at 70 to open a policy. There's a proliferation of insurance companies so shopping around is a good idea, it won't be that cheap. I chose my insurance company because of the agent, having a good agent who is responsive and speaks your language is perhaps the most important thing

Are you living in Thailand? Or asking for Thailand Pass?
They have insurances with no age limit. I got my insurance here. Expensive to have good insurance at your age, but good agent. Will help you to discuss options.

If living in Thailand ask a good insurance broker. E.g. AA Insure in Huahin. You may be strategic to start before your birthday.
