TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the need for health insurance for a 78-year-old individual applying for a visa to Thailand, specifically the Non-OA visa, which requires comprehensive coverage. Several users provide insights on where to purchase health insurance suitable for elderly expats, mentioning companies such as AIG, Pacific Cross, and Aetna. They also share links to government-approved insurance brokers. The conversation includes clarifications regarding the specific requirements for different visa types and the potential difficulties of finding insurance for those over 75.

My original post asked for a Thai insurance company that will insure a 78 year old! Can anyone help with that? The rest of this conversation above is superfluous
great Kevin. There's a requirement that if I come back in on a retirement visa, I need health insurance, including covid. I need the minimum insurance acceptable to the government for three months and for one year. If you can find out

At the moment you DO NOT need health ins for a non O based on retirement.

At the moment O retirement is not being issued and if you have one already you can't use it to enter Thailand. O-A was added to the entry list but not O retirement. So retirees looking to return at the moment need to get this, and insurance.
, so to re-cap, you're outside thailand and you're going to get a year-long, multi-entry Non-Immigrant Type O-A (Long Stay) visa based on being over 50 (retirement) AND you want to know who will insure you for the mandatory insurance in the visa requirements because you're over 75? RIGHT?
DO you also want the policy to cover your mandatory 100K USD covid insurance as well?
you have some reading comprehension problems (which is on you) I told you to contact Arawan with Poe-Ma insurance (she's issued more O-A and Covid policies than anyone else I know. You can get the deductible high enough so you're basically buying the insurance just to 'tick the boxes' to get the visa and to meet the covid insurance entry requirements.
that's correct. But I want the minimum acceptable to the govt... Not a bloated policy

LMG offers the lowest rates for the mandatory O-A visa insurance BUT you'd have to contact a broker to see if they will insure you because the cut off is 75 on their site..
Try contacting Arawan at Poe Ma Insurance Brokers.

I am 78 and bought a comprehensive policy from AIG including the required 100k.....decent price.
Garrett. I respect your work very much. Truly. I asked for help with an insurance company. You're not helping with that. So, can I respectfully ask... Can you focus on what you're dedicated too most and not on me on this issue. I'd love to keep my respect for you
Your posts doesn't say what visa you're applying for mate. If you're have trouble finding health insurance you could apply for an Non-O based on retirement which does not require health insurance.
