TLDR : Answer Summary
A user in Bangkok seeks recommendations for health insurance covering hospitalization, following their recent acquisition of a DTV visa. Community responses suggest various options, including avoiding American companies due to complex claim processes. Recommendations include insurers such as Safetywing and Allianz Thailand, along with expat services like Tenzing Pacific Services. Users also advised to carefully review policy details before purchasing.

I use Safetywing. You're covered worldwide with them and the five claims I have made have all been resolved without issues.

Here are their package options:

Thank You for your helpful report ๐Ÿ‘

Congratulations ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight โœˆ๏ธ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.

I have also Been Told to Stay away from Any American companies for health insurance, you got to go through hoops even on your death Bed to get any claim sorted . Typical America really .

Make sure which ever company you choose, you read and understand the fine print. Many of them deny payment even if you only had s cold recently. Itโ€™s only affordable if youโ€™re young and healthy. I pay a lot with multiple pre existing conditions

Just get Safetywing. It will also cover you in other countries for when you're leaving Thailand.

@Martin ****
If you canโ€™t find anything you like, please let me know.

Iโ€™m an insurance agent with Allianz Thailand and I believe I can propose you something, at least to compare.
