TLDR : Answer Summary
When you leave Thailand, your initial 60-day entry stamp will be canceled. Upon your return, you will receive a new 60-day visa exemption stamp, therefore extending your stay. If you initially entered Thailand without a visa and are planning to return after a short trip to Bali, ensure you communicate any intentions regarding a visa to immigration to avoid confusion.

I didn’t mean my 60 visa I referred to it wrong I meant my 60 day free entry. Does it renew once I leave for Bali after 22 days in Thailand upon my return on the 27th

No. when you leave the stamp is finished. You’ll get a new 60 day one when you return.

FYI - you asked about your "60 day visa", but what you seem to have meant was your "visa exemption". Please note that this is NOT a 60 day visa. It is a VISA-FREE entry, eligible for residents from 93 countries.

sorry you’re right. That’s what I meant does my 60 day entry start again when I leave after 22days. Thanks for pointing that out

Yes, you will start a new 60 day entry stamp not resume the previous 60 days

Single entry ends if you leave

Arrive first time without visa as a tourist, stay 12 days , and 2nd time , you can show your visa at immigration at airport and start your stay with visa

correct, need to tell IO if asked you have visa you don't want you use it now cause you are leaving then coming back again and want to use it at that time, I just did something similar twice as I flew in than flew out the next day then repeated it again 2 weeks later, was a little hassle on the second one but was ok.

If you already have the 60 day visa yes.,.. if you get a voa visa on arrivel no .

This is for a 60 day multiple entry tourist visa not a 60 day visa exemption
Stuart *********
@Andrew ********
That snippet seems to be referring to a multiple entry tourist visa (METV).
Bart **************
@Stuart ********
it's referring to a 60-day visa. Despite that the METV does indeed give this number of days upon each entry, it's not very common to refer to it as a "60 day visa" as that would defy the visa's purpose.
Stuart *********
@Bart *************
There is only one visa that’s valid for 6 months.
Bart **************
@Stuart ********
true that. But in the beginning it reads as "the 60-day visa is multiple entry". That's just wrong info. Even if the METV gives 60 days per entry too, putting it as "THE 60-day visa" suggests there is only one and there can be no ambiguity about the visa type if all we know is that it gives 60 days.

@Andrew ********
there's a disclaimer at the bottom.

@Andrew ********
not sure where you got this from but this info is incorrect. The (regular) visa is single entry.
Alan **********
You will get another 60 days
Stuart *********
That depends whether you are talking about an actual visa or just getting a free visa exempt stamp on arrival.

If you qualify for visa exempt then you just leave and you’ll get a new one on your next entry.

If you need a tourist visa to enter then you can get a re-entry permit before you leave and that will keep your “allowed to stay” date alive for when you return.
