Hi all. I've been coming back and for to Thailand for quite some time by just using the 30 day entry stamp. For my last trip I used the 60 day tourist visa for the first time, and have a short term condo for two months where the landlord has sent me a TM30. I only arrived around three weeks ago but unfortunately I've had to make a quick trip back to the UK where I'll have to stay for up to just under two weeks. When i come back to Thailand, will the conditions of this 60 day visa still be okay or will my leaving make it null and void? My original immigration stamp doesn't run out until 11th May and the visa is to be used by 20th July if that helps. Thanks in advance for any information ππΎ

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the validity of their 60-day tourist visa after leaving Thailand for a trip to the UK. Community responses clarify that leaving Thailand without a re-entry stamp invalidates the current visa, and upon returning, the user will enter on a new visa-exempt 30-day stamp instead of reclaiming the remainder of the 60-day visa. Suggestions include considering applying for a new tourist visa for longer stays.
Your visa is used. A visa acts as entry permission, and states for how long you can enter. It can be single or multiple entry, and if yours was single, it is now set and done.
But you can come back on visa exempt. There's a higher chance of being refused entry if your travel history to Thailand (as a tourist) was excessive, but it does give you more time than the remainder of your 60 days in case you get in.
This time you entered three weeks ago on an actual tourist visa good for 60 days. You will be in the UK for two weeks. That totals at five weeks, and your entry stamp from your actual visa was for 8 weeks total, leaving three weeks left. Your time on your entry stamp does not stop and restart if you were to get a re-entry permit, for bt1000. You would still only have three weeks left on your entry stamp. Now if you didn't get a re-entry permit and it voided as soon as you left for the UK, when you returned you would get a 30 day visa exempt stamp like you did before, and it would be good for 4 weeks instead of just 3 weeks if you got and used a bt1000 re-entry permit. Do you see where this is going. A re-entry permit does not stop the clock. Also, once you used your tourist visa the validity date has no meaning. It is used.
If you have left Thailand you have been stamped out and your 60 day visa is now done, you re enter with a 30 day visa free stamp, your tm 30 also needs to be re done that cancelled when you leftβ¦if you want to stay past 30 days you can now go to io for 30 days extension
if you just re-enter though, you will receive 30 days exempt and that can be extended by another 30 days at any immigration office. So if planned stay is less than 60 days, no problem at all
