What happens if I forget to do the 90-day report on a Non-O retirement visa in Thailand?

Good evening all,

A 90 day report question:

What happens if one forgets to do the 90 day report on a Non-O retirement visa? (Finnish nationality, if that matters...)

Can it be done late (how late?) and does it cost something and if so, how much?

I have heard somewhere that the 90 day report is not even so important and nothing happens if one does not do it but that sounds "a bitt" strange to me...

Thanks in advance ๐Ÿ‘

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you forget to submit your 90-day report on a Non-O retirement visa in Thailand, you can still report it up to 7 days late. A penalty of 2,000 baht will be imposed if you're late, although not reporting may not significantly impact future immigration applications. The fine will be collected the next time you visit the immigration office, and some users have suggested that traveling out of the country resets the 90-day reporting clock.

You can go all year and still pay a 2000 baht fine which youโ€™ll do when you have to go to immigration

Your 90-day reporting window in person at the immigration office is between 15 days before the due date and 7 days after the due date. You can submit a report within this timeframe without any issue. If you are late to this "7 days after the due date", you will be fined 2000 baht for not reporting.

All the penalty for lack of reporting is a 2000 baht fine. Failure to report doesn't affect the next application. However, you will receive a stamp mentioning a 2000 baht fine on your passport. Some people don't care about it at all, and some don't like to have it.

If you leave the country and come back (ie visit Laos) the 90 day clock resets and you can report as usual without a fine, in my experience.

depends on whether the immigration officer notices the next time you visit an immigration office or not. Immigration officers at the border won't care

You can submit the report up to one week after the due date. This is usually not a major issue until the next time you deal with immigration. I believe the standard fee for a missed 90 day report is 2,000 baht.

yes, 2000B whether 8 days late or 8 months late so if already day 8 or later forget about it until the next extension is due otherwise you could pay another 2000B for another missed report in the same period

Once you are late in filing the 90 day report...

The fine will be 2,000 Thai baht...

And only will be collected the next time you need the services of your local Thai Immigration office.

No need to do anything else now.
