Does anybody really know What happen, if you are an workation and then change your company (still remote work but not the company where you applied with)?
Answer summary
If you're on a workation in Thailand and change your remote job without notifying the immigration office, generally, nothing will happen as long as you're not working for a Thai company. Most contributors agree that the visa remains valid based on the original application documents, especially for those with a DTV (digital nomad visa). However, if you have a work permit or business visa, changing jobs could complicate your status, requiring you to go through immigration processes like changing work permits and extensions.

Nothing. However for people on a biz visa and a work permit then it's a world of hurt. π (Change work permit, cancel extension of stay, do new extension of stay, and plan it to happen all on the same day. If the slightest thing causes a delay then congrats: you're now on overstay and need to pay a fine because someone in the labor dept or immigration messed up but it can't be their fault clearly, so please pay, and we'll paint a red overstay stamp in your passport to boot. π )
Labor peeps and immigration peeps don't even particularly like each other, it's a dysfunctional mess. Then again, if the Thai civil service wasn't a dysfunctional mess then it'd be like Sweden or Switzerland and who in his right mind would want to live there. (Hold on to that thought, it provides comfort in times of despair.) I may have digressed a little; carry on. π€π
Thatβs the same for soft power too. Can change classes(of coz under DTV programs) and u can change remote jobs too. Nobody can guarantee to do same remote work for 5 years tho. π€
some soft power school doesnβt provide courses extension, for me I am thinking to change another soft power class after the current course is expired.
SunnyPapaya8638 as of now there's NO clear policy for what happens when you complete the Soft Power Activity course of study you signed up for with the DTV visa. It's an unknown.
Nothing will happen. The visa is good for 5 years based on your original submitted documents. It is the same for soft power. If ppl don't attend their course or change to a new course it does not affect their visa. As Andi says, the only problem would be if you applied for a 6 month extension in country.
If you extend via an immigration office you need to submit the new contract of employment etc. Doing border hops there are no mandatory checks of employment.
