Can I work remotely on a DTV e-visa after fulfilling the soft power activity requirements?

Applied for a DTV visa through a muay thai gym to help the process but I am a remote, solely EU earning freelancer. Been told I must keep doing the soft power activity for the remainder of my DTV visa through their backing… but want to charge an arm and a leg despite already being done every 6 months

Once you’ve got a DTV e-visa which I have, is this the case?
Summary so far
The individual applying for a DTV visa through a muay thai gym is concerned about ongoing participation in soft power activities while being a remote freelancer. There's mixed advice, with some stating that ongoing proof of participation isn't generally required unless extending the visa or upon re-entering Thailand. Others argue that the DTV visa should allow work if the individual changes their visa conditions to a workation. However, there are reports of varying interpretations of the visa rules related to remote work.

No that's not true tell them to do one. You're allowed to switch and work remotely if you applied via soft power.

If your eligibility changed from being eligible only for soft power to now being eligible for workation then there is no issue whatsoever.

There are people that do YouTube on all visas to include streams basically digitally begging for superchat money to fund their lifestyle

I’ll leave it at that

It is hard to explain all again and again to people who don't want to accept rules.

Applied for a DTV visa through a muay thai gym NOT workcatioin

BUt you might not agree with the Thai Ministry Of Foreign Affairs, no problem but just explain that in your advice, like:

Sean rules are all is allowed.

Try to read it and take a look to this screen shot from the website.

Three options, BUT ONLY 1 with remote workers, digital nomads and free lancers.

I guess you know this, that is why you post anonymous.

You just mean you don't want to accept the proof because it is inconvenient.

When you think it is officially allowed to use DTV 2 / DTV softpower as was it DTV 1 / workcation, you should show where the exception of the Labour Act for this visa is, which you can't because there is no exception.
@Robert ******
also shows clearly the official info from Immigration.

Your screenprint of your application does not say anywhere work is allowed when you have applied for softpower, that is just your interpretation.

Why should
@John *********
not be allowed to tell the truth?

Is that because the truth is inconvenient for you and not matches your fantasy?

For remote work in Thailand you need DTV 1 also known as DTV workcation or LTR L3 also known as LTR (T) or LTR Work-from-Thailand Professionals.

Other visa do not give you the exception to work without work permit.

Anonieme deelnemer Savings is just one option, passive income another.

But five years soft power is not very likely, most wil end much sooner and then they should not use the visa anymore.

Anonymous participant if you work remotely from Thailand you should have applied using the Workation option as this is the only option that allows you to legally do so.

I don’t understand how that’s the case, it just doesn’t allow you to earn in Thailand directly, that’s why the check you’re earning an income to be granted the visa in the first place?

You don't need to keep doing your soft power activity during the duration of your DTV VISA

If you pay for 6 months after you can ask a certificate that you complicated your 6 months of Soft power activity

A certificate you followed a 6 month training just is no proof at all about what you are currently doing.

Did immigration confirm that a certificate will make the job? Highly doubtful.

Anonymous participant I think it would be better to take photos and gather other proof that you’re attending classes. But the best option would be to visit an immigration office and ask questions.

I know what's a certificate, that's a proof you've done classes for a certain time, there is no link to what immigration could later request.

Currently, ongoing participation is only really checked if you extend at an immigration office in country. There have been some limited reports of people being asked for proof of an ongoing soft power activity when re-entering but it is fairly rare.

Obviously though, no one here can see the future. If they wanted to crack down on the DTV, the easiest ways would be through a check of finances and proof of ongoing participation upon entry.
