What happens after my DTV visa is approved: do I need to visit an embassy or is there a digital option?

Hi everyone,

Stupid question but it's not very clear for me :

Once the DTV visa is approved, do I have to go to the nearest thai embassy / consulate to have the DTV visa in my passport?

Or do I receive a kind of digital visa via email (QR code or sth like this) that I need to print?

I ask because the closest thai embassy is 260 kms from my home 😅😅

So it would be good news if there's a digital version.

Thx for your help 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
After your DTV visa is approved, you'll receive a PDF version of the visa via email, which you should print and present upon arrival in Thailand. It's advisable to print multiple copies. The necessity to visit the nearest Thai embassy depends on their current processing methods, but most are transitioning to e-visas.

PRINT the PDF they send you 😉

It depends on whether that embassy is doing e-visas only or paper visas only. In the near future all embassies will transition to e-visas only, tho.

Online applications will receive the visa via a PDF and present on arrival in Thailand. Best to print a few copies.
