I am on a retirement visa in Thailand and moved some months ago from Bangkok to Koh Lanta. For my upcoming visa extension I need to officially change my address to the current one in Lanta. Which form do I need to use and how long/short after you sign the rental agreement do you have to officially report your address change?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To officially report your address change after moving from Bangkok to Koh Lanta on a retirement visa, you need to fill out the TM30 form (foreigner in residence form). This must be done within 24 to 48 hours after signing your rental agreement. Additionally, since you are changing your address to a different province, some immigration offices may also require you to file a TM28 form (change of address form). It is important to notify the immigration office within the required timeframe to avoid potential fines which could amount to 800 to 1600 baht.

You OR your land lord needed to file a TM30 (foreigner in residence form) within 48 hours of you moving in AND some immigration offices also want you to file a TM28 (change of address form) because you have an extension from one province but you moved and will now be using another immigration office for your 90 day reporting and subsequent extensions.

I see a trip to your local immigration office AND a possible 800 to 1600 baht fine for failing to notify them during the required time period when you moved.
